Meghann Dreyfuss was born and raised in Northwestern New Jersey, where the theater-bug bit her early. She began singing at age 3, and performed regularly throughout her community in such shows as Mary Poppins, The Sound of Music, and The Fiddler on the Roof at the Sayerville Mainstreet Theater, in which her portrayal of Hodel earned her four Central New Jersey Tony Awards, including Best Featured Actress (the show also won Best Musical). When she reached High School, she played Maria in The Sound of Music (the first musical produced there in 17 years), Guenevere in Camelot (for which she was Nominated for the Papermill Playhouse’s Rising Star Award), and Karen in The Children’s Hour, among others.

In 1997, Meghann graduated from High School and was accepted into CAP21, the musical theater studio at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. She spent three and a half years training at CAP21, during which time she played Guenevere in Camelot, Gabbi/Bobbi in City of Angels (Off-Bway), as well as writing and performing the one-woman-show, When We Become Real, and then spent her last semester studying at Stonestreet Film and Television Studios. Throughout her schooling, she worked professionally as a singer and actress, on the Spirit Cruise Lines in New York City, at private events throughout the Northeast with the group, The Girls Next Door, and as a featured performer at NYU’s Tributes to Jerry Herman, Hal Prince, Jerry Orbach, and Lynn Ahrens & Stephen Flaherty.

During her final months at NYU, Meghann was cast as a Sophie-Understudy and Ensemble Member in the Original Broadway Cast of Mamma Mia, the ABBA musical phenomenon currently playing worldwide. So, shortly after graduating with a BFA from Tisch, she began rehearsals for the show, which opened October 18th, 2001, and which just celebrated its closing after Twelve Years on Broadway. During the course of her almost eight year run on Broadway, Meghann has performed on countless TV specials including the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Broadway on Broadway, the 2002 Tony Awards, and the Rosie O’Donnell show, as well as in Broadway community events like Easter Bonnet and Gypsy of the Year. Her cast also recorded several songs for the Carols for the Cure albums, annual Holiday CDs released to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids. She left Mamma Mia in September of 2009 after almost 3,000 performances!

In the fall of 2009, Meghann took a leave from Mamma Mia to create the role of the Archangel Raphael in the New York Musical Theater Festival (NYMF) production of Sophia’s Fall, a new musical based on Milton’s Paradise Lost.

In April, 2009, Meghann performed the role of April in the new musical, Brunch, which workshopped in the Chernuchin Theater at ATA, original home to Urinetown: The Musical.

Meghann studies regularly with Craig Carnelia and James & Roxann Javore, is happily married to the actor Kevin T. Collins, and lives in New Jersey with their two children.
